SAP ERP Public Cloud 2502 China Localization Update Highlights Full Analysis

2025 is another brand new year!

With the arrival of the new year, SAP has also launched an updated version of SAP ERP Public Cloud 2502, a series of innovative and enhanced features aimed at helping enterprises further optimize business processes and accelerate innovation.

In this version 2502, localized enhancement features covering key business modules such as taxation, funds, reporting, and regulations have been released for the Chinese market, aiming to better meet the localization needs of Chinese users.

Chinese localization report update

1.Update of aging report function for accounts receivable/payable in China

Starting from version 2502, users can retrieve and obtain data on all outstanding accounts receivable or payable based on the company code, and then turn off or turn on the subtotal row display by clicking the newly added “subtotal display/hide” button, and double-click the total row to view all detailed information at once. The design purpose of this feature is to provide financial users with higher flexibility, enabling them to conveniently access the required report data, thereby improving work efficiency and convenience.

2.China Cash Flow Statement Function Update

In the Chinese cash flow statement of SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (SAP DRC), the new version supports automatic calculation of manually adjusted results from previous periods into the current period. Just check the option ‘including manual adjustment items’ to reflect past manual adjustment records in the current report. In addition, the system adopts a new OFFSTG-DOCLN field for offsetting accounts to store split information, avoiding conflicts with the original ACDOCA-GKONT field and further ensuring the functionality and accuracy of the core financial statements.

Update of message push and social media integration service functions

Based on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), the new version of 2502 integrates message push services with social media, enabling timely push of workflow messages and warning event messages from the system to key users.

This new feature allows key users to directly complete workflow operations such as approving or rejecting requests from their mobile devices. This seamless connection not only improves work efficiency, but also ensures that important notifications can be promptly conveyed to relevant personnel.

Update on the management function of Chinese value-added tax invoices

Since 2502, SAP China’s localized tax management solution has gained richer and more flexible features.

In terms of output tax invoice management, the new version has achieved integration with the BRIM/CI system, which means that invoices in CI can now directly interact with the Golden Tax system through the output tax invoice management module. In addition, we have optimized the invoice merging algorithm to solve the problem of some invoices being unable to continue merging when invoices contain too many line items, and have synchronously updated the batch invoicing template on the national electronic invoice service platform.

In terms of input tax invoice management, a new invoice automatic deduction selection template has been added to the Fiori application’s “Planned Value Added Tax Input Operation”, allowing users to automatically submit eligible invoice data to the tax bureau for deduction operations based on set conditions.

The new version also:

● Provide a job template for ‘Resynchronizing Invoice Declaration Results’ to ensure that processing results that are not returned in a timely manner can be automatically synchronized back to the system;

● Support digital invoice file or URL synchronization;

● Support real-time access to the latest status of existing invoices;

● A series of standard direct connection templates have been released in SAP Integration Suite to facilitate customized development for more efficient online interaction with partners.

Update on localization funds in China

Update of approval process function

Starting from version 2502, Fiori’s “Manage Payment Requests” will be combined with the new message control SSCUI to provide more convenient and flexible approval functions, including personalized features such as approval status reminders, approval status tracking, and approval status notifications.
