Your R&D is in Germany, production in Shenzhen, and sales in the US. You might think this defines globalization.
But the reality might be: The Group CFO can see the real-time GPS location of every ship, yet it takes three weeks to calculate whether a specific shipping route is profitable; high-tech enterprises still rely on Excel to calculate profits, spending three full days manually “cobbling together” a gross margin report.
This is not true globalization!
How can enterprises truly gain visibility into their global business? Recently, at the “Global Operations Insight” online seminar hosted by SAP, Tankler Wang, Technical Partner at Acloudear (an SAP Platinum Partner), delivered a keynote on the “Connection” and “Insight” of data in the AI era.

“We all talk about globalization, but in actual enterprise operations, we find that the world is not as interconnected as we imagine,” Tankler stated pointedly at the opening.
He pointed out that Chinese enterprises expanding globally—regardless of their industry—almost inevitably fall into the same “Data Maze”:
1.Data Silos: Systems in different countries operate independently with inconsistent standards, creating new isolated islands of data.
2.Opaque Operations: Headquarters struggle to grasp real-time global sales, inventory, and profit status, often only seeing monthly reports.
3.Compliance Complexity: Varying tax and data privacy requirements across countries complicate cross-border data management.
4.Inefficient Manual Consolidation: Many teams still rely on Excel to stitch together global financial reports, which is inefficient and relies on outdated data.
“These problems ultimately boil down to one sentence,” Tankler summarized, “Global business is running, but the data hasn’t caught up.”

Tankler shared two authentic Acloudear customer’s cases, demonstrating how enterprises can break out of the “data fog”.
Case 1: The “Ice-Breaking” of a Logistics Giant — Closing Cycle Shortened from 3 Weeks to 1 Week
This is a global integrated logistics provider with operations in 14 countries, yet their systems were completely independent. The CFO once joked: “We can see exactly where every ship is in real-time, but we can’t see if that route is actually making money.” At the time, they relied on manual consolidation of regional reports, and the monthly closing process took a full three weeks.
The Solution: Acloudear implemented a unified SAP Cloud ERP.
By establishing a Global Shared Service Center in Shenzhen and adopting SAP Cloud ERP as a unified platform, Acloudear helped the client bring companies across 14 countries onto the same system, operating under the same set of standards.
The Result: With 14 global branches operating on a single system, the closing cycle was reduced from 3 weeks to 1 week. More importantly, the Group can finally see global financial data and profits in real-time. As the customer put it: “Finally, we don’t have to make decisions based on intuition.”
Case 2: From 3 Days to 10 Seconds — Helping High-Tech Bid Farewell to “Manual Ledgers”
How exaggerated is the pain point of disconnected data? Wang Qi shared another impressive case regarding a semiconductor packaging material enterprise.
This is a typical high-tech enterprise, yet their method for calculating profit was remarkably “primitive.” Due to complex product processes and difficult unit conversions (such as between PAD and Strip), they heavily relied on Excel for gross margin calculations. Generating a single report took three full days.
The Solution: Instead of tearing down existing systems, Acloudear introduced SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud, visualizing and automating the complex calculation logic within the system.
The Result: Previously, a gross margin report required 3 days of manual processing. Now, business personnel need only 10 seconds to view current sales and gross margins on an interactive dashboard.
“From 3 days to 10 seconds—this isn’t just an efficiency upgrade,” Tankler emphasized, “It is a transformation from ‘Monthly Closing’ to ‘Daily Closing’.”On the day of the launch, the client’s CFO exclaimed: “Finally, we know how much money we are making every day.”
Based on these successful practices, Tankler summarized a clear, replicable “Three-Step” path for digital transformation:
1. Business Process Cloudification: Use SAP Cloud ERP to lay a solid foundation for standardized global business processes.
2. Data Integration & Governance: Leverage SAP Datasphere to build a unified data framework, breaking down data silos and ensuring a “Single Source of Truth”.
3. Intelligent Analysis Drive: Utilize SAP Analytics Cloud to achieve data visualization, intelligent analysis, and prediction, empowering management to make more agile and smarter decisions.
